Looking to expand further, brothers Martyn and John took on the previously unoccupied Thetford site in 2013. The site underwent extensive refurbishment and cleaning works to bring it to the same high standard that the business usually operates to. Opening the additional site hugely extended their offering in East Anglia by more than doubling Savage Haulage’s Storage Division’s total storage capacity. Thetford is operated by a small but efficient team who was awarded Coldstore Team of the Year in 2020 at the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution Awards. The site is fully licenced as a public coldstore to house food products including meat, poultry, and fishery products and is BRCGS certified. The Coldstore is ideally located to service the requirements of Food Producers, Manufacturers, Retailers and Brokers. Main A roads, such as the A11 link the area to the rest of the UK. The site is located approximately 50 miles away from the Port of Felixstowe, 87 miles away from London Gateway and 80 Miles away from the M5.
